On Valentine’s morning, a bestselling romance author is found dead in her study.
The room is locked from the inside. A single handwritten love letter rests on her desk:

“Forever yours. I couldn’t live without you.”

Three people had access to the house the night before:

  • Her husband, who says he slept in the guest room

  • Her editor, who dropped off flowers

  • Her assistant, who left early to celebrate Valentine’s Eve

The police notice something odd:
The ink on the love letter is completely dry, but the pen beside it is still uncapped.

Someone staged the letter to look like a suicide.
