⛪Death at the Bell Tower
๐The Case
Father Lucas, a church caretaker, was found dead at the bottom of a bell tower staircase at exactly 12:00 noon. His neck was broken.Three people were in the church that morning:
-
Sister Anne, who rang the bell at 11:45 a.m.
-
Michael, a tourist who entered at 11:50 a.m.
-
Daniel, the choir leader, who claimed he was practicing alone.
The bell rope was unusually shorter than usual. There were no signs of struggle.
The police assumed Father Lucas fell accidentally, until they realized something impossible had happened.

The bell rings by pulling a rope that normally reaches the floor. But the rope had been cut shorter, meaning someone had to stand on the staircase to ring it.
Father Lucas couldn’t have fallen accidentally, but he was lured up the stairs. Only Sister Anne rang the bell, and she claimed to be on the ground floor. That’s impossible with the shortened rope.
She cut the rope earlier, forced Father Lucas up the tower, then rang the bell to create an alibi.
Sister Anne is guilty.
