Case #5: The Missing Key

πŸ•΅️‍♂️ It's the Case of the Week series!

We need your help to solve this case!

πŸ”The Case:

A woman was murdered in her apartment. The door was locked, and there were no signs of forced entry. The spare key was missing.

Suspects:

  • Her Brother, who owned a spare key

  • Her Friend, who visited that evening

  • Her Landlord, who had access to all apartments

Clues:

  • The friend left at 8:00 p.m.

  • The brother arrived at 9:30 p.m. and found the body.

  • The landlord claims he never entered the apartment that day.

  • The spare key was found later in the apartment’s kitchen drawer.

Question:
Who is lying?

✅ Solution:

The Landlord.

If the spare key was in the kitchen drawer, someone inside the apartment placed it there. The brother arrived after the death. The friend left earlier and had no reason to return the key inside. Only the landlord could enter, kill, and return the key to its usual place, proving he lied.
